UK ANNOUNCES TWO MORE NEW IMMIGRATION ROUTES

The UK government has announced two new immigration routes, known as the Scale-up route and the High-Potential Individual route which are being launched to inspire global talent.

HIGH-POTENTIAL INDIVIDUAL ROUTE

This High-Potential Individual route is aimed to permit migrants to come to the UK without a job offer and without being sponsored by an organisation if they can demonstrate high capability. This visa path will be accessible to those who have graduated from a “top global university.”

The UK Home Office has not yet outlined what is categorized as a top global university. More updates are awaited from the UK Home Office which should summarize the obligations for the new High-Potential Individual.

SCALE-UP VISA

According to the updates provided by the UK Home office, the scale-up visa route is for those capable individuals to arrive in to the UK if they have a high skilled job offer from a “scale-up.”

A “scale-up” is described by the UK Home Office as a company that can demonstrate an average annual revenue (20% or more) over a period of 3 years or employment upsurge rate of a minimum of 10 employees at the beginning of the of 3 years.

Furthermore, there will be a minimum salary threshold obligation for the Scale-up visa

Under both the new visa routes, it is mentioned that individuals will be able to settle in the UK only if they fulfil specific obligations.
