LATEST CHANGES IN THE YOUTH MOBILITY SCHEME.
Please keep in mind that, the Youth Mobility Scheme is intended for those applicants who are aged between 18 to 30 who desire to reside and get employed in the UK. The key advantage of Youth Mobility scheme is that there is no need for employer sponsorship.
So as to be entitled for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa, you need to be a national from a particular list of countries.
From 1 January 2022, India and Iceland will be included to this list, with 3,000 primary slots to be allotted to India and 1,000 to Iceland. Indian nationals will be obligated to utilize the UK Home Office’s ballot process, same like the nationals of Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea already do, denoting that their chances of being chosen for the Youth Mobility Scheme will be at random.
Please keep in mind that further evidential obligations will also apply to Indian nationals which are as follows:
1. To prove that they possess an academic qualification equal to or above RQF Level 6, that is a UK Bachelor’s degree with honours;
2. To demonstrate that they have at least 3 years’ work experience in a skilled role as mentioned at Appendix Skilled Occupations (Link mentioned below).
Furthermore, under the new Points Based System that initiated from1 December 2020, individuals are allowed to submit a leave to remain application from inside the UK to switch from the Youth Mobility Scheme to the Skilled Worker route.
