Now let’s continue the video and discus the Options available as a graduate
Options available as a graduate

Number 1.

  • Graduate visa
  • Please keep in mind that this visa provides graduates an option to reside and seek work for a minimum of 2 years on completion of an entitled course in the UK, without having to apply for a Skilled Worker visa.

Those who are entitled to apply for a graduate visa include those who presently possess a Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa, studied a UK bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree or another entitled course for a minimum period of time with their Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa and the education provider (for example your university or college) has informed them they have successfully finished the course.

This is an unsponsored visa route which denotes that an employer does not require to sponsor licence to be able to employ a worker on this UK visa route, signifying more suppleness for sponsors when recruiting.

The Graduate route is expected to inspire more businesses to hire graduates because of the lack of limitations that sponsors are generally faced with when hiring skilled workers.

For graduates, this visa route is perfect if they desire to stay in the UK to get experience working, but do not have sufficient experience to be able to be prominent for a Skilled Worker visa.

The disadvantage is, this is not a visa route to settlement and those who desire to finally apply to settle in the UK will require to interchange to a different visa that leads to settlement in the UK.

    Option Number 2.

  • Skilled worker route
  • Please keep in mind that those graduates who may have some previous experience in their field, the Skilled Worker visa is a choice to stay in the UK and is a route to settlement. So as to be entitled for the Skilled Worker visa, applicants should fill a job that can be located on the eligible occupations list.

This list is in place to ensure that an individual is doing a skilled job in the UK. An employer must prove that they are not able to hire a UK national or an individual settled in the UK and consequently need to search further afield to find somebody to fill the role that they require.

Please keep in mind that graduates might have other choices for staying in the UK after their studies depending on their situation.
