SAFE ROUTES FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS CONFIRMED BY PRITI PATEL
According to the latest updates by the UK Government, the Home Office is working to create safe paths for asylum seekers.
The month September 2020 has been the most eventful month on record for migrant Channel crossings.
The UK Secretary of State for the Home Department, Priti Patel has announced that, the UK Government is observing at making harmless, lawful routes for asylum seekers to come to the UK.
The UK Home Secretary also confirmed that her division is functioning “right now” at discovering new routes “for the safety of those that need our support”.
Miss Patel’s remarks originated after she tackled demands from all parties to observe at the problem to stop unsafe Channel crossings by migrants.
EU regulations mentions refugees should be provided asylum in the first secure country they arrive in.
Addressing in the Commons, Priti Patel replied to a question by another MP that he is correct about the need for, well, larger need for, safe, legal ways.
She further mentioned that “But I must also add that it is right that as a Government we chase the people who are simplifying misconduct and my fellow Minister of Parliament has understood this afternoon already, the numbers of arrests, the number of imprisonments we will carry on to do that.
“And obviously we are working currently to look at new ways, safe, lawful routes for the protection of those migrant asylum seekers who need our help.”
