In today’s video update, we will talk about the announcement made by UK Government regarding easing of Immigration rules.

It was reported that the UK Immigration rules are to be eased provisionally in a bid to employ and keep more workers.

The UK government has mentioned that immigration rules in the UK are to be eased temporarily for international workers in an effort to hire and retain more staff.

Please keep in mind that Care assistants, social care workers and home care workers are to become entitled for a health and care visa for a one year period, with the UK government stating that this will make it stress-free to fill gaps in labour force.

The declaration follows warnings that the sector was in for “severe and increasing” problems with employing and keeping hold of staff post-Brexit.

Care workers will be included to the shortage occupation list, which assists migrants to get work visas in sectors where there are scarcities.

According to the Department of Health and Social Care, the provisional rules are anticipated to begin early in 2022 and will be valid for one year before they are reassessed again.

Since Brexit, social care workers from EU countries are no longer spontaneously entitled to work in the UK and are obligated to apply for a visa instead.

Sajid Javid, the UK Health Secretary stated: “It is important we carry on to do all we can to safeguard the social care sector during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.”

“These rules, together with the series of support packages published since September 2021, will assist us to make sure short term sustainability and success for our long-term vision to build social care back better.”
